this is one of my favourite outfits ever just because it was on Leia

I feel kinda bad about it too lol

Agreed. I loved this outfit and the Ewok celebration outfit she wore in "Return of the Jedi", especially how long Carrie's hair was in that movie! (though some of it was hair extensions)

As for "Star Wars", I love her ceremonial gown, in which she gave Han and Luke the medals.

I'm annoyed by the current movement determined to view Leia wearing the gold bikini as something traumatizing for her. She's LEIA ORGANA. She's been active in the Rebellion since she was old enough to do anything. She saw her planet and everyone she loved murdered before her eyes. She was brutally tortured by a man she later learned was her father. She's seen death and misery on a epic scale. I don't think "forced to wear a gold bikini" would even be a blip on her radar.

I understand that Fisher disliked the costume, but I can't imagine Leia's reaction to wearing it being more than, "Really? Oh, for fuck's sake. Whatever."

My favorite Carrie Fisher quote about the bikini:

"To The father who flipped out about it, -"What am I going to tell my kid about why she’s in that outfit?" Tell them that a giant slug captured me and forced me to wear that stupid outfit, and then I killed him because I didn’t like it. And then I took it off. Backstage"

The outfit is amazingly eye-catching and hot. Before I watched Star Wars I never understand the appeal, but after, I think it is not just the outfit but Leia's personality in general and how kick-ass she is, even in a skimpy outfit truely made the golden bikini shone.

The problem with the outfit is George Lucas saying bras don't exist in space and then suddenly they do? Pretty pathetic.

She's not running around on a spaceship in that ensemble. Jabba has no intentions of letting her leave the room, much less the planet.

No bras in space would make sense if they're ships didn't have artificial gravity and they never went down onto planets and ran around... which they do all the time. If I lived in a galaxy far, far away, I'd want a bra.

(Also, they bound Fisher's boobs with gaffer tape while filming the first movie, because apparently there can be neither bras nor jiggling in space. You can't have it both ways, George!)

Is that a wax-work? I thought it was really her for a while there.
