Also, the vast majority of people are basically attracted to the same things that social consensus has established as attractive, and people who say otherwise are probably mostly lying to themselves

You seem to think a lot of people are lying to themselves.

Yeah, I do. I don't think it's a good thing but it seems true. I expect I'm probably lying to myself as well.

Maybe they're lying to themselves. :o

Maybe OP is lying to everyone else.

Oh, I wish I were attracted to the things social consensus has established. Then I wouldn't feel like I have a bunch of weird kinks I need to be ashamed of.

are you an incognito MRA or something?

this sort of comeback is tiring as it is lazy

making some lame-ass association with some undesirable fringe group that doesn't frequent this corner of the internet so you can claim moral superiority while pretending you've made some witty comeback

just say they're a fucking idiot and add your two cents why they're a fucking idiot

(and don't claim I'm OP because it's just as lame)

uh...

I mean it's the kind of thing they say, that's why I picked that. You sound really worked up about my pseudo-snark that apparently fell short of your standards.

This isn't about moral superiority, either, and why you jumped to that I do not know.

what else is the point of this comment? that's a pretty silly question. do you think that's what I was doing? (it wasn't)

Some of the people down the less extreme end of MRA-dom can have good points. The ones who are genuinely concerned about men's rights and not just blaming everything wrong with the world on women.

ime those people don't call themselves MRAs, and "beauty is objective" is one of the things I have seen MRAs and other similar, related groups (redpillers, PUAs etc.) say a lot. They use it both as a way to continue to hang a woman's value on her appearance, AND as a way to claim they know exactly what women want in men. The whole thing pisses me off so much tbh.
