Aw. Today was nice here. Mid 60s (f). My parents complained that it was cold, but I found it pleasant. The one thing I didn't like was the fog that made it difficult to drive and the random 5 minute downpour that started just as I got to my Spanish class.

I love my part of the world. It was 41 degrees Fahrenheit here and just right for a brisk walk in a light jacket.

I don't want any more freezing rain/rain stuff, and I don't want it to be in the 40s (Fahrenheit) in January. I want more proper fluffy snow, and I want it to stay cold (doesn't have to be bitterly cold, just temperatures in the teens/twenties for highs will do). Save the slushy stuff and the warmer temperatures for March.

This month marks the beginning of the three-month stretch of virtually zero sunlight that happens at the beginning of each year, and I am NOT looking forward to it. I already feel a little bit more depressed than usual.

Honestly if we could skip the first third of every year I'd be so happy. And push the snow that we usually get in Jan and Feb when I'm fucking sick of the whole thing into December.

I finally got the last of my Christmas presents! The soundtrack to a movie I really liked, and a really lovely rainbow scarf (which I am torn between keeping in a box forever, and wearing every day until it falls apart).

My brother and his girlfriend sent me a nice birthday present. I wasn't expecting anything from them (or anyone, to be honest). I got a mug and a few kinds of tea that look really good, and surprisingly well-matched to my taste in tea.

I had lost my copy of Fellowship of the Ring extended at some point, not sure when, but it had to have been at least 5-6 years ago. Anyway, I went to Half Priced books with some old books I didn't need anymore, and the amount I got for them was exactly the cost of the copy of FOTR extended they had. So now my set is complete again.

Also, I have the house to myself from Friday to next Tuesday. Excited about that.

General Art Advice Thread (my question below)

Do artistic collaborations or anthologies have to be color coordinated? There's this group I was part of who is obsessed with using a fixed number of colors because they say that there won't be any cohesion between the artists. But what if the topic or theme of the collab is the same? Wouldn't that work just as well to tie it all together?

I'm working on my personal website, and I think the layout (not created by me) is really pretty, but... I can't figure out how to make the links, which pop-up, fixed.

When I click a link on the home page, the page that link leads to is supposed to pop up in a small window in the same page. But it isn't fixed... if I scroll up or down, it comes with me, so it looks messy.
