Video Game Movies
(Anonymous) 2017-01-19 12:44 am (UTC)(link)But what do you think will be the first good one. Can be one in production or just one you think would be good.
Re: Video Game Movies
idk though, it's a tough one for me to answer specifically because most of the video games I like either 1. have a million different ways the plot could go or 2. have barely any character interaction
maybe a really cleverly-approached Legend of Zelda movie? It'd have to be a bit differently structured than the games, of course, and have some (good) character development and subplots added.

Re: Video Game Movies
(Anonymous) 2017-01-19 01:12 am (UTC)(link)I think video game movies tend to suck, because storytelling in video games is a completely different medium than storytelling in movies. It's hard to adapt, some things work in games that don't work on the big screen. Plus, the plots are usually longer and harder to condense faithfully into 120 minutes or whatever.

Re: Video Game Movies
Then again, plenty of book adaptations aren't great either.

But it's the exception that proves the rule, really.
