reincarnation cycles taught that soul true love and compassion before she could be the person Inu Yasha needed by his side

Okay it's been a while since I watched Inu Yasha, but didn't Kikyou already have those traits when she was first alive???

Like yes as the result of her death/resurrection she gets very cold but I always thought she was supposed to be very different before those events and was a very compassionate person. She even helped people when she was still being generally cold in the series.
