As someone who is also a queer person, you're not a spokesperson for the entire movement and our struggles are not all the same, so let's stop gatekeeping the community by saying you "must be X amount of oppressed to get in."

Why are you telling me not to be bothered by everyone wanting to jump on the queer train? Good for you, it doesn't bother you. It very much bothers me, and I certainly intend to continue saying so. And no, it's not even about oppression olympics (though yeah I absolutely find it as offensive as a redhead saying they are an oppressed ethnic minority because people make ginger jokes), it's literally about being queer, and not having sexual interest isn't queer. I absolutely support discourse on asexuality and believe it has a place in discussions about sexuality. But it has zero need to self-identify with queerness, and LGBT is queerness, period.

Given the historical prejudices against the Irish and Scots, and that being Ginger is almost exclusive to the genetic heritage of those two groups, yeah I can see being ginger being allowable as an ethnic grouping. The non ginger Irish and Scots are the same as pale skinned African Americans, if they change their accent and ignore their cultural ties then they can pass as Anglo Saxon though.

I identify as queer partly because of my asexuality. The fact that you don't like it has no bearing on my own identity. I wonder if you have any idea about the history of the definition and use of the term 'queer'?

I do always find it pretty funny when people step in to police how people self-identify.

You can identify as whatever the hell you want. If you don't care if you offend actual gay people, then you don't care. If you're white, call yourself black, too, who cares who it offends, after all? It's your own identity.

LGBTHet person here, we Hets are criminally overlooked by the rest of LGBTQAIHet community and you should make more allowance for us in it.

I know you're trolling, but het trans people exist

If you are saying that there isn't a cut off then cishets are allowed in the LGBT community as much as any other group. Plus unless they are really freaking lucky, and are willing to cut their past out of their present lives, hettrans people are still going to face exactly the same kind of oppression as the rest of the LGBT group. Oppression that the asexuals simply do not.
