He seems super bisexual to me. Sincerely, a bisexual.

He seems super straight to me. Sincerely, a different bisexual.

Not even taking Keith into account* the way he acts around male characters he actually likes and gets along with has no romantic tension. Whereas a pretty girl only has to exist in his vicinity for a few seconds before he at least gives her a grin and tries to introduce himself. Believe me, I'd like a canon bisexual character, but I don't think Lance is one, and I'm pretty sure that everyone who insists that he seems "super bisexual" in canon is watching it with shipping goggles on so fucking tight it's cutting off the blood flow to their brains.

*as an aside, I will say I am BEYOND sick of that trope of "characters who dislike each other are hiding sexual tension!" because, no, sometimes, you just don't like someone! And these "belligerent sexual tension" ships end up becoming enormous while ships that would actually be healthy and supportive get ignored.

nayrt

I agree with you, but it might not even be shipping goggles (though I'm sure that's the case with many people) - bisexual Lance is such a widely accepted fanon that people forget what Lance is actually like in the show. That's why many people were disappointed that S2 "rubbed Lance's heterosexuality in their faces", as if S1 wasn't exactly the same.

OP again.

Oh, that's a good point that I hadn't even considered. I've definitely seen that happen with popular characters in popular fandoms before, to the point where I sit there going "... did we watch the same show?" Lance might have been one of those cases. Because in canon, in both seasons, he was constantly showing interest in girls, and only girls.

...How? I think you're just projecting.

another bisexual here, he comes off as completely straight to me.
