I've recently seen people saying to call no matter if they're your representative or not, and while I'm no expert, it just seems off.

I'm pretty sure they're legally not supposed to listen to anyone from outside their district, because if that were the case people from one state could influence what happens in another state and it's not fair to the people who live there.

NAYRT: That's honestly pretty fair. It sucks in situations like these, but in normal circumstances it's fair.

I think you misunderstood me, or maybe I'm misunderstanding you. I'm saying in general if people in Wisconsin got to influence the laws in Massachusetts, it wouldn't be fair to the people in Massachusetts, which is why representatives can only listen to their constituents.

AYRT: No, you're misunderstanding me. I'm agreeing with you. :) I just mean it sucks in a case where you want to influence a national issue, not a state one, but that I also understand why the rule exists as it does.

I'm pretty sure there's nothing illegal about it, but it does raise questions s about what's morally right.
