Oh I can definitely see that. It's one of the reasons I can't do Stranger Things. ASOUE I grew up on so I know basically what happens, so it's NBD for me I guess, but I can definitely see how it would be upsetting to come into as an adult.

Also, as a kid I had a terrifically dark sense of humor (I also grew up on Addams Family reruns and the original, rather bleak Peanuts comics) so I found these great. Now, I think the appeal for a lot of kids is that the series doesn't sugarcoat childhood and really looks at what it's like to be powerless as a child. And yet, somehow, these kids survive and carry on. I can see how that's a comforting message.
