9. I can really see where the people who ship them are coming from. I think there could be chemistry there. I don't know that the show is going in that direction, though. Halfway through the first season, I thought there was a chance, but I doubt it now.

10. Oh god I love Les Bijoux. ._. I wish there was a fandom too. It's so incredibly beautiful, and the story is just my favourite sort.

15. And I'm already a millionaire. Who the fuck cares, the economy is so freakishly inflated that being a millionaire means diddly shit any more. Maybe that's what people are butthurt about? Eh, nah, couldn't be. 9_9

38. You assume someone is a brainwashed sheep if they don't like rape or suicide? You know, maybe religion is why they don't, but let's face it - can't a person find those horrifying concepts and be left alone? If they give religion as a reason, maybe they're just looking for an excuse to be disturbed by things that most people find horrifying. I know I've been in fandom long enough that neither really register for me anymore, but what does their excuse have anything to do with it? How does it make them a weaker person to not have had the values of their society warped by fandom?

61. But then how would they sell the sequels and prequels? Squeenix is all about the cashcows these days. =(

66. Self control, it's a wonderful thing.

But ZOMG! It was the END OF THE FUCKING WORLD OF GAIA if you listened to the whiny bitches in GCD. Then you had all the douchebags whining about how they bought fifty fucking bags and didn't get a good enough return on them. Whatever.

Despite the squeals of "economy!" I know people were just jealous.

Oh, I'm sure most of them are. You don't hear the same amount of cries of "economy!" when they up the amount of gold that posting gets.

Personally, I wish they'd find some way to make the site's economy not be so ridiculous, but most users don't care about the economy when they're getting more money than they were before; they only care about it when someone else is getting more money than them.

Any time you allow the users to sell things, prices will get ridiculous as people try to get more money.

First of, I am not trying to start a fight or a flamewar. Please don't take it that was, just a dissenting opinion.

You assume someone is a brainwashed sheep if they don't like rape or suicide?

No, that's not what they said at all. They said if religion was the reason, that's bad. And isn't it? I dunno, I think that even things that are obviously horrifying- the reasons why should be thought out. Just like if someone is against homosexuality, those reasons should not be religious, but a personal, well-considered choice.

Just for an example: I dislike rape in fic because it furthers a numbness in the media for violence (particularly against women) and leads to 'gorno' films. My dislike has zero to do with personal beliefs in a higher power.

Again, I'm not trying to start wank. I just happened to agree with the OP.

Wow, this got kinda teal deer. Sorry!

But what's wrong with religion being the reason that someone dislikes rape fics? Sure, there are people who blindly follow the teachings of a religion, without thinking about it themselves, but that doesn't mean everyone who agrees with their religion is doing so blindly. I can't speak for myself, as an agnostic, but I have some friends whose beliefs agree with their religion's, and they haven't thought about it, they have just let their religion do the thinking for them. But I also have some friends who have plenty of beliefs that come from their society, or their country's laws, and they haven't thought about them either. Is it more right to believe suicide or rape are wrong because they're a crime, than because they're a sin?

Is a person's opinion worth less if it agrees with their religion?

Okay, first off, I'm not debating suicide and rape in reality, but in fiction. Same as the OP. Just clarifying before I go on.

Is it more right to believe suicide or rape are wrong because they're a crime, than because they're a sin?

In fictional works, people should form their opinions because they've carefully thought about it and how it hurts society (by increasing apathy) or helps with (perhaps by exploring the concepts).

I think... and I try not to pass judgement on people for their beliefs, believe me, but I think it is more right to believe these things are wrong because of personal conviction instead of religious conviction. But let me explain why (and keep in my this is just my opinion).

Is a person's opinion worth less if it agrees with their religion?

Not at all. So long as religion is not the only reason they have that opinion. If they think homosexuality is wrong because the Bible says so, that is not a good opinion. If they believe it is because of social and personal convictions that are independent (or at least non-reliant) from their religion, that is very good.

That's my opinion. Again, I'm not trying to start wank, so in the interest of full disclosure, I'm an atheist who'll readily admit I have trouble comprehending religious belief.
