What happened?

The author originally posted chapter by chapter free on her LJ, and developed a big fan following. At some point, the books were contracted to be published, and she gave ample warning to her fans that after a certain date, she would have to take down books 2 and 3, as part of the rules of the contract (duh).

So you know, she dared to publish her own original work which she had initially been freely posting. Bitch.
