Ooh, that's such a good movie. I rewatch now and again - still freaks me out.

Yup, that's the one. It's spectacularly scary. And I love the way that going with an all female cast made the horror sharper because the writing couldn't fall back on the kinds of rote, simplistic character dynamics that dull the edges on a lot of horror films.

It came on TV one night and I just watched it, with zero knowledge of what it was. I didn't even know it was a horror movie until shit got real. Which I think is the ultimate way to watch a horror movie, because you haven't braced yourself or prepared for it at all. So naturally it scared the fuck out of me.

Yes! I completely agree. It being all-female just made the story better. No tiresome flirty/sexy crap, no annoying 'look, i'm in my bra in the woods!' shenanigans.... Good stuff.
