Yesterday I went to brunch with my husband, to one of our favorite restaurants, and they had a breakfast croque that was basically two thick slices of good crusty bread, buttered, with excellent Gruyere cheese and ham, that was griddled like a grilled cheese sandwich and and then topped with hollandaise sauce and an over-easy fried egg. There was a small green salad on the side of fresh oakleaf lettuce and roasted red peppers, lightly dressed in a basic vinaigrette, and I had mimosas with it. It was legit one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life!
