I kinda liked this show more than the first series. I mean, yeah, I like the original designs more than the redesigns (except for Omi who looks A+), and I'm fond of the old series, but the animation is much better, and I liked the serialized plot. The only downside to me is that it has less Schwarz, because I was always more a Schwarz than a Weiss girl, but still, I was way more into following this than I ever was in the old series, which I mostly watched for the fanservice. (Sweet, sweet fanservice.)
Also, these two were always my main ship, so Glühen worked out exceptionally well for me :D
Bonus Secret:I never understood why everyone was so into Aya. He is by far the most boring character to me. Also lol this anime is olddd

I have such a hard time believing people took a story about a magical pheromone wafting bug-eyed uke in a land full or creepy semes and the creepiest seme of them all who insists he's straight and fell in love over being randomly given an umbrella once and is literally so socially idiotic that he reads books about hamsters or something then tries to apply the principles to the uke because they're both cute animals so surely it must work, right? based on the advice of his trans friend (best girl for sure) who calls him her husband to troll him, seriously.

And yet so many people took it seriously enough to rabidly hate. Oh 1999, what a time.

I just rewatched Death Note with the SO, and it is NOT what I remembered, but I was 14 when I first saw it. I remembered it as this SUPER SERIOUS drama featuring lovable characters, which got kinda dull once you got to the Mello and Near arc and as an L/Light Shipper I HATED Misa. On rewatch I realized that it's actually a comedy (Although every once in a while I get the impression I'm supposed to be taking something ridiculous seriously) in a world where literally everyone is an asshole. And Misa is my favorite character. And it's not as good as I remember, though it's still enjoyable (And I still got bored once Near showed up), and there's a lot that I can appreciate better as a rational adult.

Despite the stereotyping, Queer Eye did, in mainstream pop culture, way more to bring about gay rights and gay marriage than most people give credit for. Seeing gay and straight men interacting and having common ground? Seeing MALE friendship (gay or not, males who are friends are kinda hard to find in mass media, especially with emotional intimacy) was groundbreaking. As much mockery as the show got from the queer community, it did WONDERS to break down the attitudes of America.
