I kinda understand how you feel. I recently rewatched Fruits Basket and it didn't live up to my memories. I dunno how I'd feel about Death Note after rewatching it. It did entertain me when I was younger, but I remember hating it after L died and the manga was a pain to read sometimes.

Ahh I've been meaning to rewatch Fruits Basket! I feel like my expectations aren't super high because I remember it being softer, feel-good fluff. I think it's something I could just rewatch and smile at even if it wasn't "good". But I actually don't remember much of the anime, and though I didn't read the manga, I'm under the impression that had a lot more plot.
