Say what you will about it, this show made a lot of headway for allowing openly queer hosts to become an acceptable part of television. Even shows like Ellen owe a lot to Queer eye for normalizing the idea that LGBT folks could draw a successful audience. It's still basically one of the most popular shows in its first season EVER for the subject matter.

Yeah, it's corny. Yeah, it plays up stereotypes. Yeah, it's mostly kind of a mindless experience. It still had a bigger cultural impact than a lot of people want to give it credit for.
