I love how this is still her fault.

If she hadn't ran, and we'd had a strong democrat candidate (no, not Bernie as he only ran because she ran without any real opposition) from the outset then this wouldn't be happening. She was told time and again her brand was too damaged for her to be electable, that she was too much of an insider, that she could not win. She ran anyway, and look what happened. All because Hillary was convinced it was her turn and that people would HAVE to elect her. People don't like being forced into a Hobsons Choice, and they vote irrationally.

OP
You're not wrong but we have to deal with the facts we're facing now. We're facing a hostile government that is trying to take over and dismantle America.

Do you see it differently? Are you OK with what they're doing? If so, keep pointing blame at other people. Otherwise stand up and HELP STOP THEM.

"Hilary is evil" is OLD. We're dealign wtih TRump now. He's not going invisible because you're still mad at Hillary.

The milk has long been spilled and used as lube.

Well the first step to undoing it is to make sure the Democrat top dogs learn that they caused this problem by becoming too big business and too big military themselves and so created a massive credibility issue for their candidates and that they need to pick a strong and charismatic candidate next time who is not in business pockets nor just another insider. The DNC Donors can provide the funding, but cannot have input into the campaign nor the policy formation or implementation. Also there has to be an admission that Hillary was a bad candidate. Without all that first then it would just be a castle on sand and we get a Republican back in the White House again.

So, yeah, it is vital in taking back the WH and Congress in 2020 that we deal with the Hillary problem early on and acknowledge her fault and do not try to defend her even by default.

Democrats also need to organize a means of getting Liberals out of California and NE States and into targeted midwestern communities where small numbers of new Democrat voters can effectively swing seats from GOP to Dem. Democrats and Liberals must stop fleeing to the coasts, that alone guarantees Republican dominion.

If we make that the first step, then by the time we're finished making it, the institutions that prop up our democracy will already have been dismantled and it will be too late.

You're either trolling, exceptionally naive, or incapable of seeing the forest for the trees.

It is already too late to save them for the next four years, sorry that it took you so long to even notice they were at risk but some of us were fighting this fight long before most of America woke up to the danger. All that can realistically be achieved is to get things set up so that the reins of power can be seized back in 2020 and to plan for how to construct them again. Don't waste energy fighting for what is already lost. Plan for the rebuilding instead.

Why are you assuming that I'm not one of those people?

I doubt that you even are one of those people, given that you are apparently so stupid that you think there'll be reins to seize in four years. Guess what buttercup? If you roll over now, there won't be. All your "planning" will come to shit if the mechanisms to prevent there ever again being a free and open election are put into place. There is a coup happening right now, and you are literally advising people to allow it.

So, sure, you've been fighting. Give me a fucking break. You probably voted for Trump.

We've got to be thinking 2018 before we're thinking of 2020. Or perhaps it'd be better to say, we need to remember the 2018 midterms are going to play an important stepping stone to what happens in 2020.

And when weak candidates do run, like HRC, they have to have enough humility that if they win they admit they are just a lesser-of-two-evils candidate and their victory is not a mandate for anything other than keeping the chair warm until a strong candidate comes along. This has to be the end of the lesser of two evils era. So sick of holding my nose and voting for the lesser of two evils then having them claim a massive mandate and ringing endorsement when they know it is nothing of the kind. It was a you are slightly less shit than the other shit vote, not an endorsement of your shit. No more of that.

Yeah, fuck that, I'm not going back to where people were scared of anyone who wasn't white. I like living in a place that actually has diversity, thanks.

Come to Iowa! We have cheap rents and Dutch Letters and kringle and fried things on sticks that were never meant to be fried and put on sticks! But we also have Steve King and lots of us would love to be shed of him.

I don't get this whole "liberals only live on the coasts" thing. Minnesota is the only state that never gave an electoral vote to Reagan and it's IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRY.

Anyway, no, the first step is encouraging congress to block it, making it clear there is popular dissent through any means necessary, and supporting environmental groups. There's plenty of time to work on the future of the Democratic Party at the same time. Kicking everything down the line to 2020 and assuming everything will magically get fixed then is just lazy and will leave us with even bigger problems to solve that we wuld have had if we'd made an effort early on.
