I love the Kindle Fire! It's awesome. :D You can wait for a sale and get it for maybe 40ish. Or, if you're considering e-ink, you can get a used Kindle Keyboard for around 30 dollars. You can't surf or play games on it, but it's a great reading platform, easy on the eyes, no glare, etc. Also they come with free 3G for life, which means even if you're somewhere without internet access, you can download books and it costs you nothing. I was given one back when they were new, managed to wear it out after about four years, and bought myself a used one. I still use it as well as the Kindle Fire.
