And I honestly don't care. Is the story good? Is it in character? Then I'm good.
esteefee: Early Starsky & Hutch in black and white. They both have short hair and Starsky is staring at the camera like hes in the Office (molo)

I don't know. It starts to be OOC. If there are enough Britishism and British spellings in a story, especially in the dialogue, it throws me because I start to hear them speaking in an accent. Which is admittedly weird if they are cops from Brooklyn or whatever.

Agreed - a story isn't in character if the characters don't talk like they do/should. It's incredibly jarring to me.

You'd be surprised how hard that sort of thing can pull you out of a story.

It hasn't. Also, I STILL don't give a crap about that shit if the story is a good one. And since I stay away from things set in the real world, once again, don't give a shit.

If a story is set in the U.S, with American characters, it's not going to be in character if people are talking about putting on the kettle before they nip off to the shops, then meet up with the lads later for a pint.
