Kind of similar to what I thought of the movie. I thought it was more music than an actual musical which my coworkers thought didn't make any sense. I certainly didn't think it was outstanding or memorable.

Side note, once I found out it wasn't Debbie Reynolds using her own singing voice in "Singing in the Rain", I couldn't bear to watch the movie again!

I hadn't heard that about Singing in the Rain but honestly I'm kind of enjoying the irony, considering what the movie is about.

NAYRT, but the only one of Debbie Reynold's songs that was dubbed is "Would You."

HIlariously, dubbed by the lady who played Lina Lamont. And it is only in the "Would You" segment, where they're recording in the studio (dubbing Lina), right before Lina bursts in.

I'm pretty okay with that. Dubbing in musical films is a time honored tradition, and it's the end results that matter.

...and really apropos in Singing in the Rain.
