I mostly agree with the idea of the secret, but not with most of the examples in the image. I wonder if the OP created the image themselves, or just googled something?

The one that always throws me is jumper vs sweater. And yeah, flat vs apartment, boot vs trunk, lift vs elevator. "In hospital" is a dead giveaway, as is "maths".

I think we probably phrase it as in the hospital not just in hospital.

We say "in the hospital." I've never heard anyone in the US say "in hospital" without the "the". The first time I saw it in a fic I thought it was an editing mistake.

Scots often say 'in the hospital', but their English teacher would probably mark it wrong.
