I firmly believe that otherkin/fictionkin are genuinely mentally ill, because otherwise they wouldn't be living 24/7 with delusions on that scale. So I support them in the sense that I think that they deserve the help and care they need to deal with that, but I in NO way support them in their delusions, which is what that post clearly means.

Some may be, but from personal experience, some are just desperate not to be themselves because of a bad home life or just low self esteem and self-hatred and let the escapism become pure delusion, or may be teenagers who don't think they're all that interesting.

That's make-believe, not genuine delusion. People who in all sincerity legitimately and wholeheartedly believe that they have Sephiroth living in their head, or that they are actually a dragon in human form, on the other hand, should be seeing some kind of doctor. The ones who are using it as a coping mechanism that they know deep down isn't real could also use help, but not the same kind. They might just need someone to be there for them in the sucky aspects of their real life. That kind of support is cool. Encouraging them to really believe that they are this world's version of Rose Quartz and have a telepathic connection to the "real" one...isn't, and I'm pretty sure the latter is what the post means :/

To be fair, online its pretty impossible to tell the "deep down they know its all pretend" people from the "actually delusional" people
