I find it annoying whenever I see headcanon posts on tumblr that insist *insert male character who's shown to be submissive and un-masculine in canon* is actually a complete macho badass. Not only does it reinforce this notion that vulnerability = bad and insulting, it's almost always done for the sake of justifying the submissive character dicking/topping their favorite character.

Yes. There's no need to change the character's personality to make him suddenly macho and dominant. Surprise, you can be submissive and unmasculine and still top! You can be submissive and unmasculine and still top because your dominant partner told you to because they feel like bottoming today! (But when's the last time you saw that in a fic? Ha)

+1, he can be submissive and unmasculine and a top! Or a switch, or a bottom, or not into penetration at all because your personality and your sexual preferences don't come bundled!
