Lemon and honey for a sore throat - I feel like it helps a little.

Echinacea tea as a general cold preventative - either it helps or I have a good immune system cause I don't get sick that often.

toothpaste on (light) burns. It works like a charm - gets rid of the pain, and makes it heal extremely fast.

Scrubbing your hair with baking soda once a week or so. I feel it gets my hair extra clean and adds volume.

Do you mix the baking soda into water to make a paste, and then work it into your hair? Asking because I might give it a try.

Hair's already wet, I just put it on my head. I have very short hair though, so if you have long hair, maybe you'll have better results if you dampen the soda a little? So yeah, I just scrub it in (I always shed a lot in the shower because my hair's crazy thick) and then shampoo my hair like normal. It will make tons of lather, so just make sure to rinse well.

Gargling salt water for a sore throat.

Aspirin and honey mask for skin. Dissolve a few aspirin in a little water, add honey to make a paste, apply to washed skin and leave on 5 minutes, wet your fingers and gently scrub the mask, then rinse it off. Obviously don't use if you're allergic to honey or aspirin, but my skin looks amazing when I use this. I use it once every two-four weeks.

If I'm getting a cold or already have one, I make myself spaghetti with lots of fresh onion and garlic. It helps with fighting off the cold or even preventing it from becoming full blown. (My immune system is stronger than it used to be, but it's always helped at least a little bit.) My body knows it works, because I get super hungry for onion and garlic when I'm feeling a cold coming on, too.

This is like my favorite remedy: beef noodle soup with broccoli at a local Chinese restaurant. It's loaded with garlic, ginger, star anise and dried red pepper--you start sweating and your nose starts running at the first mouthful. I swear it has nipped colds in the bud for me, in the past. I should learn to make it myself--at the restaurant you can only get it at lunch.
