HELLO OP HERE I have to rush off in a sec but!!

'oh but this character FANCIES GIRLS this is just THE EXCEPTION hes not GAY he's just into THIS MAN PARTICULARLY' which, you know, I'd be fine with! if that character was ever portrayed as liking girls to begin with. almost every single time I've seen this it's like someone who was coming across as asexual or like infatuated with the idea of a girl rather than 'no, yeah, dude's actually legit straight, slept with women and all, now into One Particular Man'.

Things I would like to rec:

There is a SEVERELY UNDERRATED MANGA I believe you would like, it is called Kinou Nani Tabeta? (https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=15332) and I would describe it as like 50% SHOPPING FOR INGREDIENTS AND COOKING RECIPES, 30% TALKING ABOUT FINANCES AND PLANNING FOR RETIREMENT, 10% FUNNY STUFF THAT HAPPENS IN THE OFFICE aaaaand the remaining 10% is like social issues and awkward situations that happen as a result of being gay, like your homophobic but awkwardly supportive mom who thinks you're trans because ??? that's?? gay right?? and your dad who is still in denial and asking you when you're going to get married and your colleagues you haven't come out to yet but don't really want to because there's no need is there, and it's easier to not, and so on. Also the MCs are like legit in their 40s, it's great.

By the way, in that sum? 0% fanservice. I'm not kidding. They're like EXPLICITLY IN A RELATIONSHIP and they are OBVIOUSLY fucking, they acknowledge it and talk about it, and there's like EXACTLY ZERO BUTTHOLES AND NO STUPID WHIMPERING.

Anyway I am salty forever that this is not more well known and people prefer lingering totally-no-homo glances and UST fanservice over very YES HOMO older men in a committed boring relationship but anyway yeah typing that made me hungry so afk for food now.

Did the guys kiss yet? I only read the first volumes and don't get me wrong, I loved it, but I missed some physical affection from time to time. It kinda felt like the author was avoiding it to not trigger the mostly straight men readers.

There's definitely verbal and some level of physical affection though I can't say I remember them kissing, though. And I don't know if avoiding it is not to trigger readers or whatever.

Like Honey & Honey is another EXCELLENT manga depicting a gay relationship, though it's literally college lesbians and much more on the educational and informative side of things (and also literally THE ONLY PIECE OF MEDIA EVER I've seen with multiple!! transmen who actually have distinct personalities, I was honestly shocked), and it also doesn't do any explicit kissing or physical affection though in both Kinou Nani Tabeta? and Honey & Honey the MCs acknowledge that they are having a sexual relationship.

It just kind of felt like, yes, they ARE, but it's private and if it's not relevant to the plot or what's going on, there's not so much of a need to show it - and I like it personally because I don't really enjoy onscreen kissing / whatever so much. I think it was actually very refreshing to have an explicitly gay couple but show that you could portray a committed relationship without needing to have them be REALLY OBVIOUS PHYSICALLY about it.

Yay for Fumi Yoshinaga. I just read her exclusively these days.

Her Antique Bakery has explicitly gay main characters, though I don't know how to categorise Kobayakawa Chikage. You really need to read the doujinshi she did for the series.
