The Christians

I hate how steeped in Christianity this place it. And everyone just assumes you are too, an that praying in public schools is normal and okay.

It really does depend on where you live, I guess. Here in the UK, you go to a catholic school and you are openly agnostic - as I was - you get a few odd looks when it comes up, you have a more... interesting discussions in RE, and you don't have to eat / get to eat those little biscuits of christ and drink the wine during school services, but other than that you don't really have too different a time to all the other kids. Since school, my religious leanings have never come up.

AYRT

Yeah, I don't go around talking about religion at all, but it somehow comes up daily. I've had people say things like "pray for me/myson/whatever" and when I say something noncommital like "I'll keep you in my thoughts" they say "No, I'm serious, pray for me/put me in your nightly prayers" and get all weird about it.

I have one person I work with bring me books because she's sussed out that I'm not religious, so she's trying to convert me to "the truth" by brining me books she thinks I'll find interesting.

It honestly is a thing that comes up daily and is exhausting. I cannot wait to move.

You should tell people that if they want to be in your official prayers, there's a form they need to fill out.
