If they have Nazi influenced aesthetics, that is - in fact - a significant connection

Yeah, this. There's something about the enthusiasm with which people fap to things that look like Nazis but ~aren't really Nazis~ that is a little discomforting to me.

This seems like a stretch. Like okay, you could argue that aesthetics were somewhat Nazi-esque, but basically all dystopian military industrial complex sci-fi has that aesthetic. But simply a few uniform styles - that were not even exclusive to the Nazis, by the way - doesn't make a Nazi. Nazism was political and social policy. Nazism was nationalism and systematic genocide against certain races and types of people. I don't think aggressive sci-fi militant governments = Nazi by a long shot. It just shows how watered down and generic the word "Nazi" has become in modern usage..

While yes, the aesthetics are (on a level that is, imo, so heavy handed and obvious that it's plain riduculous and borderline insultingly stupid) Nazi-esque, the Nazis were not the only group to ever have a fondness for brutalist architecture and sharp uniforms. So just saying "yes well they look like them so they need to have the same ideology" falls a bit flat.

That's what I was talking about. The imagery is there but the content doesn't back it up. It's like calling ACROSS from Excel Saga a Nazi organization because they use some imagery despite them canonically HATING Nazis.
