Not rap, but the "thinking a white singer is black" thing is never more clearly demonstrated than the case with Sam Smith. Everyone makes that frickin' mistake. Why? No idea. I think a lot of people just associate deep voices with black singers, and that might be because that's been the case for many years.

Another example: Rag'n'Bone Man. Also white.
