There would be no raging if they didn't keep going on about 'male friendship' 'man-to-man bonds' (not hetero friendship, because that's crazy talk) and how it gets diminished by romance.

She (or he, I could be wrong) talked about that too in that convo with the other person.

But in the original post he or she probably mentioned "man to man bonds" because male/male pairings are in the majority of fandom pairings. Seriously, if she/he said the same thing only for hetero pairings everyone would be all "OMG I KNOW !!11". The fact she only mentioned male pairings (WHICH THE ORIGINAL POSTER OF THE SECRET TALKED ABOUT, although that person was being a major dick about it) everyone pissed their panties.

What the other person said. The secret was about slash, so I responded in kind. And slash seems to be the majority of fandom. Since I used Scrubs in the other example, I'll do it here: I hate the Elliot/JD romance, because I think they were amazing as friends, and the yo-yoing back and forth made it cheap eventually.
But slash is the majority. And what I see in fandom is usually "let's pair all the guy characters up and forget about the girl characters, unless maybe we want to do yuri, but mostly, let's just have hawt boys having sexy-sex!"

(I mean, honestly, how much of Spock/Chapel or McCoy/his wife do you see in comparison to Spock/Kirk or Spock/McCoy. Even then, you don't see as much Spock/McCoy because McCoy's old and not as pretty [lies!])

At any rate, I believe I exclusively mentioned "male friendship" once, so I don't think I kept "going on" about it.
