Folk Rock
(Anonymous) 2017-03-05 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)Re: Folk Rock
German: Schandmaul, Subway to Sally
French and Breton: Tri Yann, Alan Stivell
Re: Folk Rock
Legit folk-rock bands and artists: De Rosa, Arab Strap (and the solo work of Aiden Moffat & Malcolm Middleton), Morris On (various artists), Fairport Convention, The Pentangle (folk jazz/skiffle revival), Brass Monkey, Steeleye Span, the Albion Band (and the many other projects of Ashley Hutchings not already on this list), the Stanfields (folk punk), Sandy Denny (and Fotheringay)
Indie type rock/pop folkies: Bowerbirds, Dog Days, Elysian Fields, Great Lake Swimmers, The National, Rah Rah, The Wilderness of Manitoba, Foxface, Sons & Daughters,
Some other artists that are either not quite folky enough, or not quite rock enough, but still might be worth checking out if you like folk rock: Al Stewart, Andrew Bird, British Sea Power, Craig Cardiff, King Creosote, Driftwood Fire, First Aid Kit, Iron & Wine, Roddy Woomble (of Idlewild, but they are not a folk act),

(Anonymous) 2017-03-06 06:26 am (UTC)(link)I'm assuming you're already familiar with the big 60s and 70s folk rock names, so.
