I feel like Nisio Isin is basically the Josh Whedon of anime, and both are hacks. The only thing they're good at is snappy (and totally unrealistic) dialogue that makes the reader or watcher feel smart, and there's pretty much no depth to their stories or characters.

Sure, SOMETIMES they can make plots which actually have a semblance of meaning, but those bits come off more like one-offs and accidents – and I'm willing to bet are probably due to the rest of their writing team or editors.

I wouldn't mind seeing a kiss or something that blatantly screams that they are having a relationship-- but I think what I want most out of season 2 is more information on the other skaters--

Because it was such a short anime, you really only got in depth into three characters, but there was so much potential for other characters. I know that if it isn't about Yuri, it wouldn't be called "Yuri on Ice", but I really want to know more about JJ, Otabek and the others because they were portrayed so enticingly, especially with their little interior monologues.

I know that this completely veered off topic from what you meant, OP-- I'm so sorry :(

Really? It's funny, because I think of Laverne Cox as the go-to Hollywood transwoman. But since Bruce Jenner was so famous even when I was a little kid, it makes sense that Jenner is now the one people think of. I guess Laverne Cox is still one of the most famous for both being trans and playing a trans character. Whereas Caitlyn Jenner was already famous for other reasons and then transitioned, which takes some courage.
