(Anonymous) 2017-03-05 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)I mean - and correct me if I'm misunderstanding you here - but according to this analysis, it would seem to follow that if a cis man had shown up to try and lead a Republican fight against bathroom dickery, that would have had more of an effect? And I am fairly certain that's not the case. No one could have done that and the mistake Jenner made was thinking that it was remotely possible for anyone to make Republicans listen on the issue. I don't think that Jenner would have been successful making the same case if she were a cis man.

The expectation may have been born from living as long as Caitlyn did in this situation of privilege, but it's failure will not necessarily be tied to the transition for her.
