Madison is a really common name though. I know at least three female Madisons (Maddison) and no male Madisons, including a good friend of mine who is nearly thirty. Nickname Maddie. That doesn't sound yuppie at all to me.

It was a very rare first name until the movie Splash came out. Now it's really common.

"Maddie" was pretty common, as a nickname for Madeleine, Madonna, or some other name.

Not sure why you think being common means it can't be yuppie. SUVs are common. McMansions are common. Abercrombie and Fitch is common. Etc.
