Same.

I'm more of an agnostic deist than a smug atheist, but I'm so sick of religions affecting those who don't follow their tenets in terms of lawmaking and voting trends that I'm just like...tip those sacred cows!

Agreed. I'm agnostic too, but I think it's worth saying that I have NEVER had a Jewish person or a Muslim try to convert me to their religion. Yet somehow that seems to be not only okay but also expected with Christianity, and that's just fucked up.

But to what extent is that - particularly the expectation of proselytism - just a result of living in a society that is more Christian than any other religion?

I don't think you would have the same experiences in a majority-Muslim culture.

Recruiting is something that Christians and Muslims are supposed to do, but not most other religions. Judaism makes it actively difficult to convert.

(You've probably never run into a Muslim proselytiser because of where you live, but there's plenty out there, just like Christians.)
