Have you talked to her about it? (probably, but figured I'd ask)

some people can be really frustrating to deal with though because they just don't care how their actions affect others :/

I had a roommate once who would leave her bedroom door open well into the night and watch shows/get on Skype without headphones and laugh really loudly

I did talk to her and that's how I found out she can't hear and doesn't sleep.

She's fine most of the time, oh but that's because she works 80 hours a week and is never home, but she's only noisy when I'm trying to sleep.

Ugh, I'm so glad I live alone and don't have to deal with roommates.

Huh...I mean...that's not actually an excuse to play the TV super loud in the middle of the night? like? it's still really inconsiderate. get some headphones.

sucks that she works 80 hours though. nobody should have to work that much :(

haha some roommates are ok, some are even really great! and there are many benefits to not being alone! that particular one was probably the worst I've had, and she wasn't NEARLY as bad as some horror stories - just kind of clueless and mildly inconsiderate. no major issues, just lots and lots of minor ones. (she was noisy in general, which was annoying.)

That's exactly it. Or one night she had a party until 11:45PM on a Sunday night. I had work at 7AM and needed to go to sleep and luckily I can call and report this since we have technical quiet hours between 10PM and 8AM, so she got a warning and she's been a little better since I talked to her a few weeks ago but every once in a while she'll be super noisy.

Eh the long hours works great for me, she's NEVER home. I just think it could be worse, I could have someone with kids there all day. And then I remember I want to sleep and she's noisy. So it goes both ways.

Meanwhile downstairs neighbor and I were annoyed at each other in the beginning but I made the nice gesture of baking for Christmas and now we're all good.

Oh, I also live a mile from my parents and I live in the area I grew up in so I'm only alone when I want to be. It's nice just being able to spread out and not worry about bothering anyone (oh books are everywhere here.)

haha I've been spending a fair amount of time with my parents lately when it's been harder to hang out where I live. Having 'rents in town is awesome.

and baking smooths a lot of things over <3

Yeah and I stress bake so I end up with WAY too many cookies all the time. I learned my neighbor can't have my mint cookies, but she loves pfefferneuse and gingerbread cookies, which is great because my cousin and the office love gingerbread as well.

haha. stress bakers make the best roommates! :P

(my sister does it sometimes; I don't technically live with her but sometimes she does it when we are both at our parents' house)

I had a really stressful junior year of college an lived down the hall from a friend. I'd just randomly pop in with cookies. Her roommates, her roommates' boyfriend, and my friend all loved just seeing cookies there all the time.

I also like to experiment with flavors and my coworkers are great for that.
