5. Hah. I'm just going to minor in it. My Japanese teacher was a prime example of the 'exciting' career you could make with a Masters in Japanese.
6. *facepalm* Word. I get that a lot too.
7. Hellooo~ Gundam Wing fandom.
11. My player must be a sadist, I swear.
12. <3

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
1) While having a personal fandom would be cool, you'd also get the stalkers and crazy people who'd want to slash you with Scooby-Doo or something. And that's just scary.

2) I tend to approach stratRPGs similarly- I love mesing around and getting an army built up of characters I like/that remind me of characters from other series. (NIS for the win. Their random names are AWESOME.)

4) ....... ow, my brane.

6) ..... how do you make patterns for making your own costumes? ._. I wanna do one myself but I can't figure out how to get the patterns done to fit me.

10. I'm 28 and still love old-school Power Rangers. And G1 Transformers (OptimusxRodimus OTP~). And the old My Little Pony cartoons. So be not ashamed. <3 .... what cartoon is that, anyway?

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
10.) 26 and still watching the classics (Tom and Jerry FTW), and Old School G.I. Joe (not that Sigma Six bullshit) and Voltron. Those never get old. =3

[identity profile] shoyesainomiko.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
6) Offering some wannabe cosplay advice here, so I'm not a super expert, but you can always get a dressform, adjust it to your measurements, and draft the pattern yourself out of tissue paper and use it like a regular pattern. There's also a pattern making software that has something like you draw the sort of thing you want and it'll draft a pattern you can print out. They're both super expensive though. D:

[identity profile] shoyesainomiko.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
5) Maybe we let them go with the hopes that they'll become more educated? :D? I dunno. I'm planning to major in Asian Studies mostly because while I may grow out of anime, I think I'll always be fascinated with Eastern cultures, and I got into anime only after Japan, so... *shrug* We're not all bad? :D?

[identity profile] grayout.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
4. *diiies* I got to "towering flesh pole" and started cracking up.

6. Start being like "oh yeah, and I wish I had oh, $400 so I could _____" every time the person does! It'll probably work!

12. Oh god the art was so BAD

[identity profile] grayout.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Out of curiosity what's the worst thing you've seen?

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
4. omg that's when I started cracking up as well! There's something to be said for fic that is SO bad that it's hysterically funny. Unfortunately most bad fic is just boring bad.

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
6. When I was in SCA I got some very basic patterns and a dress form then would customize from there. But then early medieval outfits are pretty generic to begin with unless you're going for the royal/nobility look.

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Why on earth would you want a fandom for yourself? Think of all the crazies you would attract.

4. I can only think of Mystery Theater 3000 in regards to this. Of course it isn't a movie however.

5. Well I was interested in Asian culture before I ever became interested in anime. But I still didn't major in it.

7. Well I'm not usually shocked anymore but there are some things that still make me go "ugh, I'm not going to read/look at any more of this."

10. I got hooked on Beast Wars. And I'm older than 27. :D

11. I miss Sims2. :( I had to uninstall it because it was taking up more than 7 gigs of memory on my computer and I needed the space. If I get my other computer working, I'll put it on that.

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
that naga!Riku story sounds like some of the Standard Issue hokey garbage from Y!G.

[identity profile] grayout.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
I think I remember reading some KH story where uhhh.. Riku? Or maybe Axel? Or... somebody, anyway, like... forced Sora to get really fat and like stop taking showers and just get all disgusting and start being really masochistic, or something.

*dies* Augh, I don't get how people write this stuff seriously at all. I love my crack, but yeah.

1

[identity profile] donkey.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I'LL BE YOUR FANDOM :D Totally. I'll make wank at myself and everything!

[identity profile] grayout.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I went and read that Draco's dad drilling a hole into his head and screwing his brain fic again and yeah, all I thought was brain-part-names from psych.

But why mpreg? *dies* I just pretend the one having the kid is a woman, chances are the person who wrote the fic wrote him as one anyway. >>"

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
1. Having a fandom would scare the crap outta me. Seriously.

4. Can't... stop... laughing... *dies*

11. That would explain a lot. >>

[identity profile] fairyfey.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
4. At least you made it that far.

(Anonymous) 2007-02-21 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
It's W.I.T.C.H. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W.i.t.c.h). Its on Jetix...really good. Reminds me of early season Sailor Moon.

And old-school My Little Pony FTW. I adored them as a child...still do. Kept a few from my collection, but theyre packed up from moving.

[identity profile] stamina.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
4- WAT DAT WAS D:

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Can't really afford a dressform... not to mention I'm not sure what that is. One of those mannequin-like things? Anyway... I can't even find patterns for long coats to modify. :/

[identity profile] some-kat.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's a mannequin costume makers use. Personally, I'm horrible at using them.

And I'm sure if you look in Halloween stuff, you could find some labcoat costume patterns to modify? D:

[identity profile] shoyesainomiko.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, they're the mannequins, and they're above $75 or so; you'd be lucky if you found a good one under $100. As for long coat patterns, Simplicity 5836 is a good place to start. :3

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
If it comes to that, I have a spare labcoat could take apart for a pattern, but I dunno how well it'd work. Reeve's coat is going to be a BITCH to figure out. I still wanna try, though. XD

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
... the Simplicity website doesn't have a match for that pattern number. D: I'd have to skip the mannequin, I can't afford that. XD Maybe the coats section'll have something I can fiddle with, though... thanks for the tip!

[identity profile] happy-cupcake.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
1. I'm glad you realize that you're an egotistical bitch. I know people that have the same secret, but won't admit to it.

4. ... All I have to say is if I were even into something like that, I wouldn't even post it here.

5. If you ever run into my ex-boyfriend, don't hesitate to kill him. If nothing else, just break both his legs for me ♥

6. Offer to teach them! Hopefully it will shut them up.

7. It's starting to do that to me D:

10. I still love cartoons :D I really wish that the first time I watched it, I didn't have all my friends cracking on how bad it was. I want to watch it again, but alone.

11. I always think of life as a video game, is that sad?

[identity profile] shoyesainomiko.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
...durrrr, I am dyslexic. It's 5386. XD;

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
<3 It's OK. 5311 shows promise, too, since the design has to have a Mandarin-style collar. The bell sleeves are gonna be a bitch, but... I'll figure something out. maybe. XD

[identity profile] shoyesainomiko.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
*salutes* Good luck!

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
11. I wish my life was a video game. Then I could get training in using a sword, go out and kill monsters and pick up the gold they would drop. Sure sounds like a more interesting way to make a living than what I'm doing now.

[identity profile] kokamo.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
4.) I laugh at this. Although "the smell and the majestic girth of his rotting member" does make my stomach churn slightly.

5.) LOL HEY THAT'S ME. :D Well, I might minor in Asian Cultures and Languages. But I'm certainly not an anime geek, and could probably never profess to being one.

[identity profile] happy-cupcake.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that sounds way cooler than how my "real life video game" is. I tend to think in terms of a Sim game ^^;

[identity profile] anna-chronism.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Find a pattern similar to what you want and modify it, or find a couple different patterns and combine elements from each. It isn't that hard and practice helps. Lots of problems can be solved by thinking them through. Also, get a bunch of the really cheap muslin fabric that's like a dollar a yard and practice on that to see how it'll turn out before making the final thing.

Haha, that sounds like a bunch of work for just one costume, but I love it.

4. If you're feeling brave here (http://games.adultfanfiction.net/story.php?no=544173665) is the link to the story. I can't stay in a bad mood for long after reading it (or *trying* to decypher it, anyways.)

(Anonymous) 2007-02-21 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
4. Yeah, that's a secret that, if I had it, I wouldn't even think it for fear of someone just knowing what I was thinking.

Still, I think the fic was written as a joke. It sure as hell made ME laugh!

(Anonymous) 2007-02-21 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
4. It gets worse. Far, far worse. (In a killer-funny way, though...)

http://games.adultfanfiction.net/story.php?no=544173665 ;)

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Awww your icon is so cute. Usually I hate cute but that duckling is so sweet.

[identity profile] happy-cupcake.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I hope the person wrote it for kicks because if not, I'm uncertain of what I would do, but it'd be not pretty.

[identity profile] queenie-z.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
4. I ain't touching that one with a 30-foot pole. .____.;;;

[identity profile] queenie-z.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Just commenting to say, yo, fellow ToS cosplayer! ♥

I made a Lloyd costume. Yes it's kind of pathetic looking, and yes, I'm a girl, but I don't care. :D

[identity profile] kokamo.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no. Now I have to go read it. My curiosity won't let me do otherwise. D:

(You just had to post the link, didn't you? :P)

(Anonymous) 2009-09-09 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't want a fandom based on me because I have no faith at all. People would probably gayship me with my best friend or kill off the people in my life I don't like very much, and it would quickly get creepy, out of character, and badly written. X3
