"Leave me alone mom, I am TRYING to join the Avengers." (Fandom dreams thread)

Because we all have them, right? Share your wackiest, most wish-fulfilling, or just recent ones here.

Are we talking "dreams at night" or imagination/fantasies?

Night dreams was my intention, but go wild.

Ha, night dreams works for me.
I think my weirdest ongoing fandom dream thing is that I have dreamed that I'm Cloud Strife already... five times? Maybe more. I've never dreamed of being the same character so many times in a row. The best one by far was when I was fighting Sephiroth, just going at it with Cloud's giant sword. It was super satisfying XD like playing FFVII in virtual reality!

Other than that, I tend to have very plotty dreams. Like, dreams with backstory. Those don't tend to be fandom, though.

I have the DUMBEST fandom dreams.

I had one where I was with some of the character from DBZ (I only remember Goku). And we were climbing this tower to go kill some bad guys. And in the middle of this epic fight up, Goku starts whining because he was hungry. So he made us all stop so I could cook hamburgers for everyone. Then I woke up.

Then I had a dream where I was in the body of Buffy. I was basically an audience member in a first person Buffy parkour dream. :/

...wait why are you ":/" about being 1st person in Buffy parkour? That sounds fun.

Because I wasn't in control. I was just watching stuff. Also, she fell onto some rebar and got a huge piece of metal through her thigh.

I don't remember. I had to leave that part of the dream to go feed an iguana.

When I was 6, I dreamt that I became friends with Sabrina the Pokemon gym leader and we had fun playing with her dollhouse together. Still one of the best dreams I've ever had, even though, now that I think about it, it's pretty creepy my 6-year-old self fantasised about turning real people into doll-sized people and putting them in dollhouses.

I don't usually have 'pure' fandom dreams, what I'll usually have is a random cameo by a fandom character in the middle of my random wacky dream of the night. So it'll be something like a random time-travel/UFO adventure dream with stasis bubble explosions and also a cameo by Sherlock Holmes. Set in the park in my home town, because naturally. Or that canoeing dream down the long river walk by the woods, and then randomly Optimus Prime was fighting some silver-haired anime dude with a long sword on the far bank (I'm 90% sure anime dude was at least partially based on Yue from Cardcaptors, but with a sword instead of a bow). This had nothing to do with the rest of the dream, we just canoed past them and then there was a speedboat chase, and something about floating blue flowers. I'm not sure if I've ever had a dream that was purely about one particular fandom?

I dreamed last night I was having some weird argument with Bubbles and Julian from Trailer Park Boys. I'm not sure what it was about.

It was Pirates of the Caribbean. Apparently the pirates needed something to save the world or whatever from Isla de Muerta, but it had already sunk. They wanted me to go scuba diving and try to find it because I had like just shown up from the future with scuba gear. I spent the entire dream trying to explain that the gear wasn't mine, and that just because it showed up with me didn't mean I knew how to use it. I woke up before it was ever resolved.

The weirdest thing was that I'm usually never a "character" of any kind in dreams like that. It's usually like me watching a movie or something.

I had a dream my boyfriend was part of the Avengers, not as a super-powered individual or even someone with combat training like Clint or Natasha. Just my boyfriend as himself running around with the other superheroes in his jeans and t-shirt.

I had a dream where I was dating Chris Evans, but the best part is that even in the dream I was like 'lol omg as if' so I kept running away from dream!Chris, telling him that we weren't dating and generally making him look really sad the whole time. Like goddammit brain you could have let me have dream make-outs with him but noooooo.

The silliest one I always remember was back when I used to work retail I dreamed my store was attacked by zombies and John Crichton and Aeryn Sun from Farscape showed up to save us, herding me and my coworkers into the bookstore next door. Then we tried to storm the store to take it back from the zombies. When we got to the back room we had to fight McDonald's mascots Grimace and Hamburglar, and only then could we face the zombie army's leader Darth Vader.

It's still one of my very favorite dreams of all time.

This is an awesome dream! It's like some kind of video game/zombie movie fusion with epic cameos.

I once had an intense X-Files dream that I remember clearly because I wrote it down the next day:

In the dream I'm Mulder and I've realized that some psychopath has taken Scully. I'm running to get to her. For all I know she's being tortured at this very moment, or killed. I'm not sure if the house I'm running to is supposed to be hers or the psychopath's. I bolt into the house so fast that in my dream the details blur as I tear through the front door, into the living room, then the kitchen. It's the layout of a childhood friend's house. When I reach one of the bedrooms the door is open and I see he's got her on the floor, bound and gagged. I can't remember whether he has a gun or a knife, but he's raising it, about to use it on her. Desperately, my hand finds a large, heavy angular granite paper weight on the dresser beside the door, and without pause I hit him in the head with it. The violence of the swing and the impact wrenches my whole body. He staggers and I hit him again, whether I need to or not. I'm pretty sure I only hit him twice before he drops, but for a moment I'm ready to smash his skull in until he's pulp. It's not hate I feel, or rage - it's pure, adrenaline-blind instinct. In the dream I'm thinking "He's a threat, stop him," and, "ScullyScullyScully." Once he's unmoving on the ground, I'm immediately kneeling at Scully's side. I nearly drag her into a desperate embrace, but presence of mind has returned just enough for me to understand that freeing her hands is more important, which I do. The fact that she's been bound makes a dizzying, searing impression on me. "How could anyone bind her?" I think. She's Scully - it seems impossible that she should ever be bound, harmed. Just as she helps me to get her hands free, I wake up.
