Too many to list, and I don't think it's rare at all nor do I understand why other people think it is.

But it is rare. Just look at most of the procedurals these days. The teams are often made of of one woman to every three men or so. (Or a worse ratio.) And this is seen as "balanced". It's like all of those studies they have done where they have shown that as women talking gets close to 50% of the actual conversation the more it is thought that the women are "dominating" the conversation. Women are represented a lot of the time at a fraction of the rate that men are represented. And this is seen as the norm. A man can't possibly be expected to relate to female characters, but of course women can relate to male characters. Because they are the standard and women are the "other". This has been stated by people in power who create things. And it is awful.

nayrt - I'm pretty sure that anyone who claims there are too positive female friendships to list and then somehow manages not to name a single one while simultaneously claiming they're super duper common is trolling.
