I'm frustrated with video games and bored with everything else so I thought I'd post here. sadly my laptop still broke so I'm having to use the voice type commands on my tablet which means punctuation is going to be very hit and miss, please bear with me

So I watched the Amy schumer special today, anyone heard of the controversy around it? allegedly the reason it only got one star was because of misogyny, and alt right trolls. I watched it today. maybe I am a misogynist, maybe my dislike of her political opinions coloured my view of her jokes, but I just did used to think she was so funny, and this was just sad. you know what it reminded me of? anyone ever watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? you know the episode where Sweet Dee does stand-up comedy? it was like that? very disappointing anyone else see that? any thoughts?

In order for your tablet to keep running properly you need to clear its percussive files, you know. You can do this by vigorously smacking it into any hard surface to perform the reset. It should work much better after that. Remember to place the screen side towards the surface which is used for the percussive reset.

You know I'm giving a lot of s*** to this technology because it can't get the punctuation right and it keeps censoring my golden words and just generally making minor f*** Ups but you know it really is quite miraculous then I can just talk at this Little White Box and it puts my words up on the screen for people who hate me for half a world away to be able to bask in them so impressive I really should be more grateful

I can't put my finger on exactly why it didn't make me laugh but I agree. kinda felt like one awfully long joke that just didn't land. Like with other comedians if they tell a joke that doesn't land for you, you just have to wait a few minutes and generally they move on to something else that might be funnier. I was waiting for the majority of that special for her to move on, and on the very few occasions she did move on she just didn't seem to move very far, you know?

I don't know inside Amy schumer Alison pretty f****** hilarious bits, then again she wasn't the only writer on that, I wonder how much of it was down to Tigg what's her face

In general I don't watch a lot of comedian sketch shows cause that isn't as much my Thing, but yeah, that is a different brand of comedy than stand up. She might be good in sketches and not as good alone. I just know I've never liked her stand up.

I have not seen that special but I have thought for years that Schumer's stand-up just isn't great. I love her show and I liked Trainwreck, and I like the way she plays a bunch of characters too, so I definitely don't think she's just not funny; I just think she thrives in a sketch comedy setting. Stand-up isn't easy, just standing around with a microphone for an hour and change, and there's a bunch of funny people who can't knock that out of the park. So it hasn't changed my opinion on her or anything, there's just various ways to do comedy and that one isn't what she's best at.
