(Anonymous) 2017-03-27 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)Either way, though, if I got a comment like that I'd just shrug it off and be like, "Well, that's your opinion, there's the back/block button" and leave it at that. Or ignore them, if possible (though, generally speaking, I know how tempting it can be sometimes to want to respond to the assumptions somebody makes about you/people like you :p).

No, because it's fiction and shipping something in fiction =/= approving of it in real life. If I REALLY don't like a certain ship I'll just ignore it and focus on the pairings I do like. Problem solved.

It's totally fine to not like/be squicked by a certain pairing, of course, everyone's got their personal reasons and whatnot, but yeah, some people really need to get it through their heads that they are not the almighty ruler of how to do fandom/shipping.
