I almost want to find out which show this is.

But I feel you, OP. I have the same reaction when anyone brings up the Will and Grace revival.

It can apply to almost any sitcom or American TV that thinks they get progressive points for having gay characters but the gay characters are just there to perv on hetero male characters to make them uncomfortable. I've seen it too many times to count and it's tragic.
