- I stopped enjoying Remus/Tonks from Harry Potter. I actually shipped them pretty hardcore before they were canon, but once they became canon it was a mess.

- Definitely Mitch and Cam from Modern Family, and it wouldn't surprise me if the secret was referring to them. I actually think they would work better as a new couple (like I said in a comment), because then I could at least see it as them trying to get "used" to their differences.

- Rachel/Ross from FRIENDS. They were horrible to each other. Monica/Chandler was the better of the series, if you ask me.

+1 re: Remus/Tonks. Felt so forced.

Same with Remus/Tonks. I've kind of come to accept that with Rowling I like the ideas of her couples better than the actual couples.
I felt the same way about Harry/Ginny, to some extent.

As a kid I remember rooting for Ross/Rachel, but as an adult I find that entire arc completely annoying and liking Monica/Chandler so much better.

I hated Ross and Rachel on Friends. I weirdly liked Rachel with Joey for that like two seconds they were together. I also agree that Monica/Chandler worked.

Me too! I didn't know they were ever officially together (I haven't seen every episode), just that they seemed to like each other but apparently decided for some reason it wouldn't work. But yeah, from what I did see, I liked her with him much more than with Ross. I've come across so many comments about how they were awful and lots of people agreeing so I figured they were pretty much universally hated...I'm kind of surprised to see this comment.

Their relationship never really made it very far, like not even past kissing, hence me saying for the "like two seconds they were together", but I liked them together so much more than Ross and Rachel. Yeah, you're right, they pretty much just decided it wouldn't work for no real reason that I could see. And, yeah, you're also right about most people thinking they were awful. (I mean, Ross/Rachel was really popular after all.) I just disagreed. And I'm surprised to see your comment as well, as I'm used to people thinking Rachel/Joey was a bad idea and Ross/Rachel is great. It's nice not to be completely alone in this! :D

I don't mind Ross/Rachel, but I don't think they should have ended up together.

If you ask me, I think Ross/Phoebe would've made a much more interesting couple. It's actually my OTP.

Idk, my issue with Ross/Rachel is how much of the narrative surrounding the show, in interviews, when it's remembered in lists of TV shows, etc., is devoted to the Ross/Rachel relationship when that was hardly the draw or the most important part. Drawing out the will they-won't they over & over again was nagl for the relationship either.
