I've said it before. They just didn't seem to fit. Gil was so open-minded and she was so closed-minded. They didn't seem to share any common interests outside their jobs. He often looked like a deer-in-the-headlights when she was coming onto him in aggressive way. And, when they were together, they had terrible communication. I didn't think the actor chemistry was right for a romance either. Still bummed the finale was hijacked by their relationship.

All of this. When I found out the actress was a lesbian suddenly everything made a lot more sense. (Not saying that lesbians can't fake good chemistry with a male coworker, but I don't blame her for not being into that.)
