What are you a hipster about?

(Anonymous) 2017-04-01 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Or what things were you into TOTALLY before anyone else?

Salty dessert-things. I used to put table salt on regular chocolates, now chocolate with sea salt and salted caramel is all over the place.

table salt =/= sea salt, though.

I was into Shakira before she started doing much in English.

Sadly, no one cares. Very few people in the Anglosphere care at all about Shakira.

You sound like someone I used to know.

Because her music stinks in any language!

Me too, anon. I grew up with her songs, but I'm not a big fan of Shakira singing in English. There's something off about it.

The artisanal laudanum revival. Weed is close enough to being legal, E is so trivial that the cops don't even care anymore, so it is time to move onto something with a little more of a romantic pedigree. Lets get laudanum legal again. It is a great painkiller, and fantastic way to relax and unwind. There is no reason for it to be illegal except prudery and it is something you can safely homebrew with a lot of different spins. Unlike Meth. Bringing back laudanum would be another nail in meth's coffin.

Who is with me?

As someone with a family chock full of addicts, not me. If somebody could figure out an easy way to make a foolproof homebrew opiate antagonist like naltrexone and make sure that recipe was distributed absolutely fucking everywhere and made in high school chem and home ec classes, maybe. And fentanyl was made illegal worldwide with life imprisonment for people caught manufacturing, selling, or distributing it. I hate the smell of marijuana, but at least the only people who have to really worry about using it are those with a family history of schizophrenia and related disorders.

Laudaunum is an opiate so unless there's something I'm missing I think you're a little behind the times to be a hipster on this

yeah, laudanum was popular in the Edwardian era.

I was more referring to the massive usage of opiates in contemporary America
