I wouldn't say my reaction is as strong as yours but I don't like the joke, for the same reason. He is an adult of course, and it doesn't seem that he minds, but I can't help having that reaction.

Same. I really dislike when people call me by the wrong name/spell it wrong, so I try not to do it to others. But if the person in question doesn't mind it, then I guess it's fair game. I find this particular meme mostly exhausting (though occasionally endearing) but ymmv. *shrug*
