Wow, I had no idea the changes were to that extent; I just assumed it was spelling and cultural references etc.

I'm very curious what kind of cultural differences you were expecting? I wondered this the other day when people were being jerks about how much culture was lost, but the sort of things mentioned didn't really seem to have a lot to do with the culture of the UK, just names for stuff that have American counterparts.

I guess when I think of culture, I think of grander processes: How and why we do the things we do and believe what we believe, bot what we call our clothes.

I didn't really mean cultural differences to be honest but things like the ones mentioned in the last post, like jumpers. (And not knowing the word Philosopher, apparently.) Which is just vocabulary so I was being redundant. There really aren't that many specific cultural references in HP, which is smart as they won't date. It's hard to tell they're set in the 90s.

Yeah, I'm not an HP fan, but I just assumed changes were word substitutions, not re-arranging sentences.
