After reading all the casting call info I could find, I am actually looking forward more to this.

I don't care if it isn't a musical. The live action Jungle Book wasn't and it was a great movie.

Would have been greater if they had cut the songs that were in it in the end as well. The fact that it didn't have that many songs made the few that were there seem even more misplaced.

I wish all of the planned live action Disney remakes wouldn't be musicals. I love Disney shit, I live and breath touristy Disney Orlando nonsense, but ffs the live action adaptations need to be their own thing. It's why I refuse to see the new BatB remake. Barf.

And I agree with the person above about Jungle Book. I found the forced inclusion of some of the songs from the original animated film to be very jarring and unneeded and wish they hadn't been there. It would have been a fully solid film otherwise.

Yeah, I listened to the BatB soundtrack in anticipation and was so jarred by how slow it was compared to the original (and how noticeably autotuned Emma Watson's voice was) that I lost any desire to see it.

Definitely would have gone to see a non-musical BatB, though.

Jungle Book: It was...to an extent. They kept some of the songs in it, just not all of them.
