Are these rumours about the character changing coming from reputable sources? I feel like there's no point in changing it, and if it's a direct adaptation, they won't.

As for songs, I can see making the call on whether or not to have the characters break into musical numbers. The movie might be too serious for that, not everything that works in a cartoon works irl. As long as it still features some of the songs, maybe as background music, I'll be happy.

It came from casting calls, so that's reputable enough I suppose?

As for the music, I wouldn't mind them not pulling a musical number but I feel like they should at least have the songs set to montages in the movie or something. The characters don't actually have to sing, but having the songs in the movie set to appropriate backdrops, that I want! :P
