Something you're good at but don't care about

(Anonymous) 2017-04-04 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
A few years ago my husband bought a set of golf clubs, and when I played with them I discovered I was pretty good at golf. With coaching and lessons I could probably be very good at golf, but...I don't like golf much or care about it at all.

What's something you're good at but don't care about, FS?

I taught myself to juggle because I was curious about how difficult it was. The answer turned out to be "not very" since it didn't take long.

Music in general, I can pick up how to play most instruments I've tried very quickly after a bit of practice but I've never wanted to do anything with it, playing instruments was always a hobby first and foremost for me.

I am great with kids. For some reason the little monsters love me. Never want any of my own.

Cooking. The more complex the dish the more I hate making it, but I'm good at it.

On Miniclip.com, there was a video game called "Traps, Mines, and Sheep ". The whole point of this game was to torture a hapless sheep by flinging it into the air via land mine explosions, while making certain that the sheep didn't get caught in numerous bear traps. ( I'm quite certain that the game was designed by a happy sadist. )
The game was labeled "fifteen minutes or less ", but I could play it for hours. I used to be a fixture on the global leaderboard for the game.

I'm pretty good at agar.io. if I'm in the mood I can sit there for awhile just eating dots and floating around, and I usually end up pretty high on the leaderboard. But I'm not competitive or a frequent player. I play it to relax. 😃

I'm good at hockey. I honestly have no idea why because I hate sports and exercising, but give me a hockey stick and I'll win your team the game.

Skiing, even for being Norwegian I am great at cross-country, but I hate it with a burning passion.

I used to dance. Mostly liquid and house but I could c-walk and stuff too. I haven't done it in years and I doubt I could jump back into it without a lot of practice. Every once in a great while I'll be like "damn, I kind of miss that", but mostly idc.

Fishing.

I find it pretty boring, I'm not fond of staying outdoors too long, and I don't eat fish, but I am pretty good at catching the damn things.

I'm a good dancer (good for someone who's never taken any sort of lessons that is). I like being a good dancer, but I have no intention of ever attempting to compete in any kind of dance on any level whatsoever.

I'm a pretty good cross country runner. But I hate long-distance running.
