Ok so I guess I entirely misread what OP meant? I thought they were implying that Lovecraft (along with all of the later imitators) WASN'T writing the "humans as silverfish" concept.

Upon re-reading the secret, I think you may be right. So I guess what OP really said is: I don't like Lovecraft('s fiction), but I like the fanfiction I read even less? Lol. Idk.

I think the OP was saying Lovecraft is all about the humans = silverfish comparison (what with the universe not caring about them and so on), but the horror inspired on him doesn't get it and instead makes it an archetypical "humans fight forces of evil" scenario, which is for the OP less scary.
